Cars which will appreciate?

If by "appreciate" you mean "be worth more pounds in the future then now" there are a few options. If you mean "be worth more in real terms in the future than now" then there are very, very few; quite possibly none.
Yeah I basically mean is less likely to lose any ££ and gain a little of value (if poss) throughout the time of owning to coming to sell - any large increase in value would be a big bonus and less likely to occur. Essentially this is an exercise to evaluate if a motor will retain more of its value than playing with shares etc. (I know both can be a mine field and both can be a gamble)Carfolio said:

RS2 if you can find one
UR Quattro - if tidy
RS4 BiTurbo - possibly if tidy
Will the OP's stated budget get him near any of those?UR Quattro - if tidy

RS2's hovering around the 11-14k mark

a couple RS4s around the 12k mark

At the top of your budget and depending on condition, I don't see the following depreciating. However, running costs could be higher than the amount you'd lose on a better car depreciating with lower running cost:
E30 M3 (a standard slightly average example)
Early Audi RS/S
Bentley Brooklands
>15 year old Alpina BMW's
Corvette C4
Jag XKR (or maybe not)
Early AMG Merc, maybe C32
Mazda RX7
Porsche 928, 944 Turbo, 968 CS, impact bumper 911's.
VW Corrado VR6 Storm with low miles
TVR Grif
An E46 M3 is a great £10k car but will keep depreciating. My pick of the above would be a spotless low mileage 968 CS.
