If there is a thread already, nothing came up on search.

I love this thing, the fact it uses the same powertrain as the other cars means they can create pretty much whatever body they want and the flat battery pack forms the base.

Bit of chopping and wider tyres should help.

Not keen on the styling, it's a bit "X6"...

The Model S is a rather nice looking thing, though.

Shame I forgot to chop the doors as well, they will now be dragging along the floor like a set bicycle stabilisers

85 KWh is quite a lot. It'd be more than enough for me.

They said something like 270 miles at 55mph which sounds okish, it's a big SUV that does 0-60 in 4.4 seconds so somewhere around half that is still alright.

What does the Roadster have? That dainty, aerodynamic lightweight managed just around 200 miles. Then you'd have to charge for 8-10 hours.

That $425 million the Department of Energy invested in them has done them the world of good. The new factory opened not too long ago too. IMO Tesla's offerings make pretty much any other electric car look a bit pony. Aesthetically and performance wise. I think they may well go from strength to strength now, they had a shakey start but it was a tough and ambitious project.

I drive to the news agent to collect my fags and cans of Kestral SS and then sit and watch Jeremy Kyle and Loose Women. I think you are unusual biggrin

Not sure how "White Elephant" is applicable really. Especially considering that a Tesla will have less parts on it that will wear out over time and will require basically zero servicing. If anyone replies to this with something along the lines of "HURR TOP GEAR SAID THO BATTERIES LAST 5 MINUTES HAVE TO REPLACE THEM ELEVENTY THOUSAND POUNDS LolLL XD XD" then I'm leaving this thread.

It looks like a Lotus because underneath it is one, so hard points such as wheel base, ingress/egress will inevitably be similar, as will the overall proportions. They had to start some where, and using a existing chassis cuts down on cost. Aesthetics are subjective though.
