So I ordered a new 1 series coupe at the start of January, finally collecting it at the end of March however I need to sell my current car and could do with advise on how much it's worth etc.

2003 BMW 330ci Sport Convertible in black with black leather
79,000 miles
MOT till December & Tax till June
Needs a service, previously been services only by BMW and BMW specialists
Very well specced, pretty much everything expect sat nav

Problems -

Dent roughly the size of a fist in the drivers side door
very small tear on the drivers side seat bolster, about 15mm long

What's it worth?

I am in no desperate rush to sell however would rather have a quick sale to be honest with minimum hassle etc which I am prepared to 'pay for'.

So what's it worth guys? Also what's the best way to sell it?

2 1/2 years ago had the displeasure of advertising my bro in law's 2001 Y plate 330Ci Sport Auto Convertible, it had 95k and was not only a little shabby, but also a non-runner as the headgasket had blown..

put it on PH for £5k and received 80+ calls/emails in one day. A Lot of timewasters, oddly enough, a lot of calls from Bradford/Birmingham/SE London in particular, but no serious buyers... all wanting to part-exchange their Civics,318s....sisters... despite me stating I wasn't a trader and didn't want part-ex..

Car sold in 24hrs to a local chap, paid £5250!!

Sorry if this has gone off topic, but given that car, in that spec...expect a lot of idiots/timewasters to call.

Yeah I can't wait to deal with the time wasters.

I'm thinking about putting it on eBay and seeing how it does and if not selling it directly to a dealer?

Trying to sell a convertible in the coldest February in sixty years?

What you need is a couple of full liquid Oxygen and liquid Hydrogen tanks channelled together in a bell combustion chamber, an ignition source and all contained in a long aerodynamic shell.

If I were you I would get someone round to sort the dent out and give it a detailing at the same time. Cost to you will be £200, but it will sell to the first buyer without haggling if priced sensibly, which it sounds like you will.

They could do the whole thing in a bout 5-6 hrs at your home/office.

Otherwise, believe me, the idiots are going to come in with some silly figures.

I have had good experience from a company that will travel to Berks if you are interested can pass on their details.

Have always had a great response from PH classifieds alone

Got no enthusiasm to get the dent and tear sorted to be honest, happy to take a hit to save the hassle.

Where abouts in Berks are you, OP? I know a guy in Basingstoke (recommended to me from someone on here a couple of years ago) who works wonders with dent removal / paint correction for not a lot of money (when my lad decided to colour in the back of my wifes S4 with a stone, Colin fixed it for me for less than £150 / when I hit a deer in my car last year, he straightened the front end out, put it back on & did the touch ups for £200 all in).....

Sorry. A really nice (if that isn't a contradiction) Golf Clipper convertible with a full M.O.T and a lot of history sold on eBay last week for £190. rolleyes

Is there any way you can keep the car until the weather picks up enough to make it desirable?
