My current car is a Mondeo 2.5t TitX Estate. I love it but doing 80 miles round trip minimum per day doesnt help the wallet. So have decided to opt back into the company car scheme. I''m after a car with:

Under 150g Co2 (tax)
A min 500 cubic litres boot
0-60 in under 8.5 secs (or there abouts)

Anyone been through this headache or got some constructive suggestions. Looking at the Focus Estate (1.6T 180ps) and Passat Estate (2.0 170bhp) atm.

(F30) BMW 320d?

£28k in SE form iirc, 7.5 to 60 and 120g/km, though 20L short of your 500L boot requirement.

3020d is attractive but hear there is a new estate / tourer coming out in the UK over the next few months.

Not very difficult requirements to satisfy tbh! I would have thought pretty much any (highish powered) modern diesel would do.

And a 0 to 60 of around 12 seconds I would think.

Great cars though.

I have a Passat CC GT at the moment and it's not great to drive, it'll feel stodgy and lumpen after a Mondeo, even in TDi 170 form.

If someone else is paying and you don't have to worry about resale value then how about a Mondeo 2.2 TDCi? Great to drive, well equipped and with a gutsy engine as well. Having said that depending on how old/high mileage yours is it might feel like a downgrade.

Loads of options as far as I can see...

Passat 170TDI estate
Newer mondeo estate
Superb 170TDI estate
Insignia 160CDTI estate
Mazda 6 Estate

Using www.comcar.co.uk to find those.

You do realise that upto 150g/km and a £30k list price will still add up to significant tax bill though don't you? I'd try to keep under 120g/km personally.
