Do you dream of driving? Care to share your driving dreams, bizarre or realistic?

I'll start off with a random dream from last night where I was trying to drive the Nurburgring. I've never been so everything was made up by my imagination. I arrived and hired some stbox car just to get round. I randomly had 2 ex-workmates in the car with me and every time we tried to leave the car hire place I forgot something and had to go back. Then it started snowing and was advised that I couldn't go round. Then finally, I couldn't actually find the track and spent the rest of the dream driving round some village looking for the track entrance.

Maybe my mind is telling me that I shouldn't drive the Nurburgring!!!

Anyway, 'brool story co.' or contribute your own thumbup

driving dreams for me are always disappointing. whenever i'm in something like a supercar, either it won't start or i can't remember how to change gear.

other times i'm in something mundane and end up rolling it or crashing. last one i had i'd borrowed a transit van from someone and it rolled down a hill and through the front of a house.

I always crash in my dreams. Usually it's a ditch that appears out of nowhere on a wet, dark, deserted road, eats up my car and wakes me up in a cold sweat. Eurgh.

Some people believe dreams are connections with your other selves in other dimensions.

I hope not because last night after eating cheese I dreamt I was in prison, stabbed some guy, went & hid the piece of metal under a chair in what I think was the library, then on the way back to my cell about 5 other inmates tried to drown me in a swimming pool. frown

Many many years ago I dreamt I broke into a Porsche 928 (no idea why a 928) in my local multi storey car park, but I couldn't get it to start.

I remember it because I woke up feeling really pissed off that my useless dream had precluded me from actually driving a 928! biggrin

I have dreams about anticipating/preparing to drive but I never actually get to the bit where I drive.

I've had quite a lot of 'driving dreams' over the years.

A very good one was when I was asked by a friend to deliver a McLaren F1 from Maidstone (where I actually live) to Holland, for which I was also to be paid quite handsomely, I'm not sure why.

At first I refused as I was already late for work and didn't want to get sacked, but then I agreed to do it.
I drove it round to a friend's house and we went for a drive, the acceleration was incredible, the next thing I knew I was awake.

I once, very breifly, drove a white Countach in a dream too.

I always seem to have cars with faulty brakes in dreams. I'll be driving along, try to stop and nothing happens, then I usually crash (though there seems to be minimal damage). I'm sure a shrink would point out some hidden facet of my personality from this.

I've had a dodgy brakes dream too.

In the dream I had actually been fixing the brakes on a 1960s American convertible muscle car but when in reverse the brakes still did nothing at all, and I hit a wall at low speed as some friends watched.

I've dreamt about highsides a few times, riding round, get on the power and the back steps out, keep it out under power and then it grips and as the bike starts to highside I wake up with a jolt...

I had a dream where I was trying to show off to some girlies in a pink Mini converible, whilst I was driving a smashed up police Sprinter van.

I've also had one where I was hooning around in an AC Cobra and ended up binning it into a lake. Then mysteriously a roof appeared on the car and I couldn't get out.

I've had my dreams (or rather nightmares) of my car being stolen or vandalised. I remember being genuine upset in the dream. Suffice to say very relieved on waking.

I had a Fireblade on demo a few weeks ago. It was very smooth. I was just about to start negotiations when my alarm went off.

I've 'dream crashed' on the same (real world) corner so many times I've lost count. The road is 3 minutes from my house, and I drive the road a few times a week. Premonition...?

Another one last night, was driving round the local roads near my house and a classic mini comes round the corner and deliberately swerves at me on my side of the road.
An arguement takes place as the other person claims she was in the right to swerve at me. The dream gets really confusing then because her logic is truly bizarre and I really can't explain or remember it.

Im another one for dissapointing driving dreams. They either consist of my car being stolen or finding myself in a supercar that is unbelievably slow or wont work for some reason.

Although I have to say they are not as frustrating as the dreams you have where you find yourself with some amazingly hot girl and then wake up in the morning asking yourself.......Damn,why didn't I just.....
