Amongst all the usual family dross, did any lucky swine at your school sometimes get picked up by their parents in an exotic car? The best one in my day was a 1983 Y-reg Blue Ferrari 400i. The same as this one. Even as a kid back then I used to turn my nose up at the thought of a Ferrari with an auto 'box!

None, anyone driven driven to school was obviously a satchel carrying pussy and was to be beaten severely.

Can't understand the obsession these days with being driven to school, most the road risks are caused by school runners badly parking outside schools.

One of these. Not the flashiest but the one I liked the most, managed to blag a lift in it myself a few times too.

This would have been 1980, so newish at the time.

Sadly I had to make my own way home, but I do remember that parents just used to drive in to the school car-park and wait there. So there wasn't any congestion or on-road parking issues. Why don't they do that now?

At my school it wasn't the most exotic of exotics. It was a white 911 Targa, much like this except white hehe

This wasn't enough for the kid whose parents owned it though, who claimed it was a "turbo without the tail".

I'm still at school and there is someone who gets picked up in a Nissan GTR. Haven't found out who it is yet though.

I used to get a lift to junior school in an S-type Jaguar, I remember sliding from one side to the other on shiny leather seats, no seatbelts then!

A mate of mine used to drive to school in a new 2.8i Capri, two-tone met blue & silver with pepper pots every day. His old man was a builder with pots of cash.

Another used to drive a white Elan.

The rest of us used to bus or cycle it!

This.I walked to school every day and couldn't get a lift if i wanted as we only had one car and my dad was out very early in the morning.Twice a day at primary school and four times a day at high school as i came home for my dinner. Both schools were just over a mile away.
Has anyone else noticed that on mornings when the kids are off school the roads are dead??

Its no wonder that most kids today are just fat, lazy, useless fkers!

Maybe rare rather than exotic, but when I was about 10 my friend's dad used a Lotus Carlton for the school run. Great fun smile

My father had some interesting stuff to play with from time to time. I certainly recall a black 928S4, a red 944 Turbo and probably most memorably was a Bentley S2.

A girls father used to write the motoring section for one of the papers. She used to get dopped off in all sorts of exotica, Ferraris, Lambos etc.

This really. Couldn't imagine the indignity of it.
