Hi

Please forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere.

I have a 2005 car with a desirable plate on it. I wanted to put it on my new car but unfortunately it is non transferable. I've been passed from pillar to post by DVLA and am still slightly confused....

Original plate was a 54 reg
Previous owner put his personalised plate on which he obviously took with him when he sold the car
The current plate is L30PEE (obviously not age related) and is non-transferable

Having gotten DVLA to review the records they have said that the plate is non-transferable due to the car having a previous personal plate on it. I can have an age related plate put back on but cant take L30PEE with me.

A couple of questions...

1) Does that mean L30PEE was issued by DVLA as car had lost original 54 plate? Or was it someone elses cherished plate?
2) If L30PEE was issued after previous personalised plate was removed should it not have been age related in the first place? i.e a 54 plate
3) If I agree to an age related plate being reissued what happens to L30PEE?
4) What happens if the next owner wants to put a personal plate on it? Does that also then become non-transferable?

Thanks in advance for your help
