I think they are pretty serious this time(despite turbo and electric steering), looks just right too

I like the look of it, a lot. Very, very smart. I've got a 207 Sport at the moment, when I was last at the Dealership, the Salesman promised me a drive in a new 208 when they start to come in. I'm actually really looking forward to it, quite interested to see how this new drivers area bit works and feels. The wheel is much, much smaller and lower, whilst the dials have moved up and back.
I hope the GTi is as good to drive as it looks, the RCZ showed promise.
Ps. This car could potentially keep me within the brand next time I change cars. I've recently fallen out of love with my 207, but build quality has recently taken a further leap in the right direction, my car could probably be sorted oh with some bigger wheels, but it'll still be too heavy...

Can't get excited about something that just seems to look like everything else in the same class tbh! And those wheels, holy cow they're awful.
Just looks like a corsa, i10, fiesta mish mash.
A common problem from al, these designers of these euro boxes, the legislation means they all look the same, most of them drive the same, many of them of curse ARE the same, well platform at least.
Anyone else here that would find it difficult to get excited about any affordable new car nowadays? My colleague was ion the lucky position of being able to look at pretty much any car, up to 35k new or nearly new, he's single, 43 with full no claims and just needs something interesting but not too shouty as he needs to be able to park it without too much worry.
After going everywhere and looking at just about every marque, he was so dissolsioned, he needed up with a ubiquitous 320d in dark grey! And says it is boring as f
k, but at least he will limit his loss on it since they seem such good second hand sellers!
20 years ago there was som genuinely exciting and aspirational everyday cars about, now there seems to be little to aim at!
I am sure it will drive nice etc, but it's hardly agame changer is it?

Yer, I'm in a similar position. Can afford £30k-£35k but there's nothing out there that inspires me for that price. I've had my Panda 100HP for nearly 5 years now and I still love it - it's still great for everything except long motorway cruises, so I'm not interested in "just another FWD hatchback", they're so expensive these days I don't think the expense is justified for that upgrade. So plan at the moment is to leave it another year when I can afford a bit more and look at either a high-range BMW 2-series coupe when released early next year or a Lotus Evora.
