Search for 750 CEA numberplate

HI everyone,
we are trying to find the numberplate 750 CEA which was originally on our classic car in the 1960's, we are informed that this has been a DVLA inactive numberplate for some years, but resides on a Mercedes 2398cc, originally white and manufactured on 12th May 1967 and registered possibly in the Yorkshire area. This car may now no longer exist but equally may be sitting in a garage somewhere. Any information would be gratefully received.
