Compressor ran out of diesel. How to bleed
Discussion
Evening all
As above really. We've got this dog of a compressor at work and it ran out of diesel today. Filled it up and turned it over and it just wouldn't bleed itself. It's so old, it probably never has bled itself in its life.
So what's the best way to bleed this bloody heap of sh it?

Find the highest union on the fuel sustem and crack it off, use priming pump to push the diesel up to it until the bubbles stop. and tighten union again.
Now find the nearest union to the engine and crack it off, now pump again until the fuel is to the union, close off and start.
This should work but is a rudimentary guide not taking into account various different engines, I#m assuming yours has a primer as most do, finding it can be somewhat of a challenge!
Alternativey, if your compressor tank has pressure, run an airline into the diesel tank and crack off the last union nearest the engine, pressurise the tank and get ready to be showered in diesel, then close fitting!
