Chav car in part exchange!
Discussion
Hi all,
Recently got rid of my mercedes but in haste of getting the car i wanted i agreed to a part ex,
Its a P reg rover 214si but its had the mg ZR bodykit fitted, its also got the interior, The only thing is the interior is really filthy e.g mould on the half leather seats, its really bad!
Does anyone have any ideas how i can tidy this up? want to do it on the cheap really as i want to sell it on, Already got a car so its just a little project, Pictures havent been uploaded because im ashamed of it!
Regards
Steve

How much does it owe you?
Must be worth £150 scrap?
This is the thing though, it doesnt exactly owe me anything, it just seems too good underneath the tat to scrap, its just had a new clutch, headgasket, full stainless exhaust, This is why i was thinking take the tat off and make it a decent car again?Must be worth £150 scrap?

A P-reg rover that has been chavved up? Not worth the effort IMO. Probably something major wrong with it if they PX'd it anyway... the type of person who puts on a drainpipe exhaust and bodykits is also the type who never seem to spend a penny on essential maintenance. (massive stereotype I know). If it's standard ZR bits it's hardly chav - purpose factory designed/built bodykit will be streets ahead of most of the usual ebay tat.
Mould doesn't necessarily mean it leaks, just that it's sat for a bit. My MX-5 has a slightly mouldy roof interior at the moment because I've not been driving it every day. I had an old wedge shaped Rover 200 that sat for a couple of months in the garage and that had some mould on the seats.
Just clean it up and sell it on.

Plus as the headgaskets are practically interim service items on those, it will gone again by the next service interval so makes the car worth even less.
First lasted 8 years and 70k miles on mine and still ok at 14 years and 167 k now! If done properly with the updated stuff, they're pretty good. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
