... that feature the requisite shot of officers smashing windows and windscreen to get in.
How would they get in to an armoured car, something like a Range Rover. Would it be a case of just waiting for the occupants to give up?
Also, does ANPR show a vehicle as being a bit special.. and not in a Max Power Corsa kinda way?

Range Rovers generally dont have armoured windows do they?
You can buy ex-military vehicles from certain places and certain websites. Armoured normal looking cars with reinforced glass and reinforced doors crop up quite often. Once saw a MK2 2.0 Ford Mondeo which was quite tempting in a impress the mates down the pub kind of way. However sense prevailed when I realised that with all that extra weight the performance and fuel economy would be terrible.A lad at an old site of mine in Basingstoke had an Omega like that. He loved it but is was slow and thirsty compared to normal. It also had a tray on the back of the pax seat, tv in headrests, extra power points for charging things only 2 rear seats.
Very nice car but when baby 3 arrived it got sold.

Tried and failed to smash armoured glass, 45 minutes with sledge hammers and crow bars on a B6 toyota in relays, just made a mess and a hole just big enough to put your fist in, but not all the way through, just to try and work out how to get in if we needed to.
We got technical and decided to pull the doors off as its easier (Ratsclaw). Or lever the front window out with a crow bar for a cheaper and slower low tech version.

i think if you couldn't get in, probably best block the motor in and then to disable it:
- puncture all tyres, if they're special puncture proof ones, wheel clamp all wheels
- pull up the windcreen wipers and spray the windscreen black so they wont be able to see where they are going
- block the exhaust(s) to disable the engine
- use a large rod to try and smash the radiator
then it would then be a matter of waiting or calling the fire service to use some heavy duty tools to rip the door open or cut a hole in the glass etc
