Dual Mass flywheel fault after 2 months
Discussion
Work colleague bought a 2nd hand car, with around 20k miles on the clock, Christmas eve, returned the car after 3 weeks with a clutch problem, and they returned it. Now having other problems and a KIA dealership have said it's problems with dual mass flywheel & clutch. What come back is there on this from a large dealer? Cars only done 400 miles since purchase.
Also sold with the front tyres with 3mm tread and rears with 6mm tread, it's a 4x4 and the KIA garage has said this will invalidate the warranty on the drive train. Bought from a KIA showroom too.
Sorry, he initially returned it to the garage he bought it from, but it was taken to the KIA dealership nearer the office for some warranty work on the suspension where they said about the clutch problem

That surely has to be total and utter balls, I know fitting different sized tyres can cause problems with some 4x4 systems but normal front to rear wear difference is ridiculous. The Wookie said:

Driven sensibly, and a 'reliable' toyota too - turbo went shortly after - then it decided to jump out of 5th gear constantly.
Incase anyone thinks your fiasco is abysmal, such as a dealer blaming tyres they sold the vehicle with, don't worry it's not just Kia. The local toyota main dealer wanted nothing to do with my folks car and made plenty of excuses to worm out of doing the work, well, I say they wanted nothing, the truth is they wanted close to £2k to put a fault right which is universally known on their products, and this is despite the vehicle being under the manufacturers warranty. However my parents also had a third party warranty on both their cars which covered the drivetrain, funnily enough, the same Toyota dealer who rejected their Toyota warranty claim were more than happy to do the work when someone else was picking up the tab - namely a company who's warranty is worth the paper it's written on.
