Looking through the autotrader and the classifieds the price of GT-R's seem very low compared to a lot of other metal out there...

2009 reg with 13k miles for £36,000 is one example...

I know they had piss poor clutch problems with the launch. But surely this is the best value "supercar" out there?

Looks like a LOT of car for the money in real world terms..

Whats the catch?

Nissan in depreciation shock.

Although loads of cars dump half their value in three years.

It was fairly sheap to start with?

They haven't actually lost that much value from when they first came out.

Though I think in not very long, when the bills start hittig home for second owners, their value will drop like a stone.

Sorry, but i don't consider it a supercar. It's more comparable to fast jap cars like Subaru's and the like.

Expensive to service?
Expensive to fuel?
Expensive to insure?
Wrong badge?
Questionable image?
Known issues?
Constant yearly updates?

People who thnk like this...

I'd still have one personally, but take the above into account and they are a car for PH's only.

Bwahahahaha! Two possibilities:

1) You've never been in a GTR and you're clueless or;

2) You have been in a GTR and you're an idiot.

Which?

I don't think there is a catch. Amazing car and amazing value.

Supercar performance with 20mpg+

Running costs are quite high compared to your usual car, but still cheaper to run than the equivelent supercar.

They're holding their value pretty well too.

Cant see how a GTR cost £70k 3 years ago, more like £52000. So its not nearly as bad is it?

The old R34 GTR are still selling around £25000-£30000 and they were £50000 new nearly 13 years ago. Thats not bad depreciation.

Are they costly to run/service just at Nissan though? Not seen prices that specialists charge to be honest.

if its a non-satnv model it cost slightly less than £51k new. There are many porsches that will lose more over this time. Warranty, service and repair costs will try to deflate the prices but if you live close to an independent then you have alternative options. They are very reliable but if they go wrong or you lightly damage it........look out!

No need to be sorry, I doubt it bothers anyone.

Lol - There speaks another person who's never been one (join the masses).

Having owned several Subarus and now a GTR - IMHO the GTR is not just in another league, it's 5 different leagues away. In a recent video Chris Harris compared it to the new M5 which isn't unfair. Both are heavy, turbocharged, have V engines and can cross continents at a jog. But very different beasts and completely different styles.

Individual services are no more expensive than an M car for example.

It's just that (if you're me) you'd need to have it serviced every 4 months instead of once a year
