Whenever I'm helping mum with her work (Research scientist) she's always had these:

Sturdy, fairly blunt, should be ideal

I asked in Boots once years ago, and they refused to sell me one. It may have been because when they asked why I needed I it couldn't think of a lie quickly enough so told them the truth – that I wanted to inject vodka and worcestershire sauce into to cherry tomatoes to make bloody mary canapés. party The lady went to ask, but her boss said no frown. Spoilsports, it's not illegal! Still haven't done this.

Needed a syringe sans needle to administer liquid medicine to a puss. No chemist around here would oblige even when we explained the need and we did not want a needle. Vet supplied in the end.

I use them to back bleed brake calipers, luckily we have them at work for taking oil samples from engines, not the needle part but the syringe body.

+1 though you may get funny looks if your not getting calpol at the same time.

Needed one recently and the chemist in the local Morrisons obliged (didn't want the needle). Sold me a "kit" that is used for administering medicine to infants - 80p

I've used one in the past to inject Whiskey into a ready baked Fruit cake before mazipaning and icing it.

Hated the idea of all the alcohol buring off when I cooked it!

How silly! We'd sell an oral syringe (comes without a needle for 75p) to you for that.

Wouldn't you need a glass syringe? Haven't seen one of them for years.....

How about a refillable ink cartridge syringe? You may be able to get one in a Tesco or Asda.

You'd be dealing with some council worker types, so expect a long lecture on the use of drugs, and when you tell them it isn't for drugs, they'll either refuse or just crash from the non scripted information being given.
