Over the years i've noticed quite a few Shoguns/Pajeros with K reg plates ending MCL. I'm curious as to why I see so many and rarely see see MCL on any other car. Would this be something to do with the importer that brought these to the UK? Some kind of mass registration deal maybe?

CL indicates they were registered in Norwich. Perhaps there is/was a Shogun importer in the area.

There are a load of Pajeros up in Newcastle/Northumberland area with similar plates. They were all imported by the same company who were bringing loads of them back from Japan, as they were selling as fast as they could get them on the ships to England. All registered from that garage with consecutive plates.

When I had my MX5 I spotted a few cars with reg numbers very close to mine, I guess they all must have been registered at the same time and a few have survived up here.
