Mazda6 2.3 Sport - Decent / Reliable Family Car ?

Hi,
I'm looking to get my wife a "new" car she currently has an X Type Jag diesel which is frankly awful to drive.
Previously she had an A6 1.9 Tdi which I loved but she always felt was too big / heavy.
She's seen a nice black with black leather Mazda6 Sport 2.3 locally and a quick google seems to suggest they drive well and are reliable.
Anyone have any experience to the contrary ?
