Hi all,

Looking for people with bigger brains than me!!!!!

I realise its not allways black and white ,sometimes there are some nutty deals such as the new 635d deal for £400 inc vat for 2 yrs 10k miles.!!!!!!!!

However my Question.

If you did 25k a year mileage would you consider contact hire or lease purchasing or does those sort of miles make it financially pointless.

All opinions welcomed !!!! Thanks,Pete

There really is no correct answer. Deals are more attractive on models that manufacturers are keen to shift.

Having said that, the best deals do appear to be on 10k per year mileage limits.

I would expect the contract rate to be too high on big mileage cars to be worthwhile.

If in fact you can get a quote on such a rate.

Ownership must be cheapest for high mileage. IMO.

Call the lease co and ask about the rate for higher mileage. I did on my last 2 lease cars upping it to 20k pa, on my Scooby it cost £15 a month more. BMW and Merc may double the cost but it's worth asking.

I have heard that some people get the cars clocked before each service to match the 10k a year limit, but i believe that it's frowned upon banditsmash

This is becoming very common practice recently with the rise in PCP deals and also because mileage correction is so cheap and widely available. It's also vertically undetectable if done annually before every service. A lot of people are going to get stung buying expensive high end "low mileage" cars that are not infact all they may seem.

I think Lings offer a 20 or 25k quote as standard on their deals - Flexxilease I think was another, but cant remember if thats the spelling or not

At some point you have to consider if it's better to buy something sub 5k and throw it away after a couple of years
