RE: Is this the new Dodge Viper?
Friday 24th February 2012

New Viper? Squint and you might see it, like a Magic Eye drawing...A blog listing the newest lines of Hot Wheels toys might just have given us our first glance of an undisguised image of the all-new SRT Viper, ahead of its planned launch at the New York motor show in April.
Is this the new Dodge Viper?
New SRT Viper, or random and coincidental collection of Pixels?

New Viper? Squint and you might see it, like a Magic Eye drawing...
Yes, we know it's pixellated and yes, we know it's blurry, but we do think this might actually be a genuine image of the new car. Well, a die-cast version thereof.
The wheels look more like the work of Mattel than Chrysler, but the hint of a double-bubble roofline, aggressive grille and snorting bonnet scoops all seem appropriate for an 8.7-litre, 600hp V10 muscle car.
We'll find out in April, we suppose...

Would Dodge really give designs for the new Viper to a toy manufacturer before release?
hmmmmm not convinced.
Yes they would, so the toys can be released at the same time as the official car launch. Happens all the time.hmmmmm not convinced.
Symbiotic marketing, everybody wins (unless someone breaches the confidentiality agreement).

Just as well they put it in the news though. Otherwise myself, or countless others who don't read every topic in the forums would not have read itFast Red colour, whats not to like.
Have a bigger pic...

Im liking the way its going back to the more curvy shape on the sides, I did not like the sharp lines of the Gen 3 model. Listening to some of the Guys on the Viper forums that actually saw the concept car, they are saying its pretty close to what they remember! I dont think SRT will be too happy this morning! I would not like to be the Boss of Hot Wheels when Ralph Giles CEO of SRT rings him!

Loving the engine, 8.7 liter V10, don't think dodge care about the envirnoment, co2 and all that bulls

In fairness, they produce and sell few cars so at their worst, they contribute very little. My Mustang barely does 1000 miles a year and has contributed less CO2 since 2005 than the most economical diesel on the planet.
