They've been fitted to fire engines for decades.
The problem with them is when not in use the last link of the dangling chain rattles on the tarmac, producing sparks. Just perfect for running round a Liquid Natural Gas complex looking for a gas leak!

think of the health a safety issues

a lorry moving in the snow
chains
snow
fluffy bunny rabbits
small children tangeled up in the chains
the damage to the roads
the 4x4 drivers not able to keep up
where are the winter tyres

i think all lorries, busses, cars, bikes etc should be banned from roads now

i want everyone to be in hovercraft smile

Well would they or would they not assist you in finding a gas leak?

Hovercraft, with their cornering and handling all buildings would need crash mats fitting, have you tried to corner in a hovercraft?

Yes, a 90 seat hovercraft. As long as you keep your speed down it will turn easly.
