Best option for minor paint damage?
Discussion
I stupidly forgot my garage had a low (concrete) roof and opened the boot, chipping the paint along the lower edge of the bootlid, for reference it looks like this:

It looks as though it is down to the metal, although the damage itself is only 2-3 inches long there are deep gouges in the paint. The car is only a few months old and I'd like to keep it in good nick so what would be the best option for repairing it? Could one of those mobile dent magicians do something like this?
Cheers![frown](/inc/images/frown.gif)

DO NOT USE A MOBILE PAINT/DENT GUY! Please I beg of you!
You can either touch up the marks yourself, which while not perfect will do a good enough job for most people and is cheap.
Or, you can do what I done and give the car to a bodyshop and they will give the edges a blow over. They charged me £30, it took them 30 minutes and you can't even see the repair. Chuffed!
Oh, and it might be an idea to find some old carpet and stick it to the garage roof, just incase you do this again!!

Why do you advise against the mobile guys? On a small job like this surely they will do it to as good a standard as a bodyshop? You can either touch up the marks yourself, which while not perfect will do a good enough job for most people and is cheap.

I've used a local mobile repair guy a couple of times and was *really* impressed on both occasions.
Car got keyed. As it's got a metallic finish I had v low expectations of what he'd achieve. But it was good as new - there were no signs of the fix. You couldn't tell it had ever been damaged or repaired!

I'll just get a quote from the mobile guy first, someone also hit my door so it might pay me to get them both done at the same time. I don't think a proper bodyshop would entertain doing the work when it's only 2-3 inches long TBH.
