The back has a whiff of new Focus about it, tidy looking car though.

Looks nice, but the boot area doesn't look very big for an estate?
It's a hatchback

Fords design influence is showing more and more, but I still like it a lot!

Is it based on the new focus?

Seriously? It's just another blobby hatch.

Looks like the Fiat Croma...

The "telephone keypad" is a Volvo thing - the S40/V50, S60 and V70 have them. They are the stereo/sat nav controls too.

I'd agree. Take the Volvo badge off and it could be anything.

Totally inoffensive, but utterly forgetable IMO.

I agree that it's inoffensive but IMHO proper volvos should look like they were designed using lego bricks. This looks like a clone of the new focus to me.

I agree that its not an amazing design but its a damn sight better than something like a golf or new shape astra. At least Volvo seem to have made an effort and that interior looks lovely.

Maybe it will get audi hot under the collar but an audi comes with something that seems to be worth an extra load of wonga.

Looks very like the new focus, but if it has typical Volvo comfort, equipment levels and a d5 equivalent motor then it would be a much better thing to wander about anonymously about your business in than others in its class.

Then again I quite like the neutral image that Volvo has

I like it, but I think we're going through a stage where there are a lot of cars that look like they are an amalgamation of other manufacturers cars. It's like when Ford came out with the jelly mould Sierra, and then everyone else cloned it.

The only thing that makes it 'Volvo' is the back.

The side profile (at least up to the end of the windows) looks very MK6 Astra too.

Looks nice, although I wouldn't say the interior was "amazing". I doubt either that Audi are going to shake in their boots. The new A3 will still outsell this by a mile.

Dash looks horrible, big slabs of cheap and shiny plastic, and loads of buttons hidden out of sight behind the gear lever. Volvo never heard of ergonomics?
