I love the way they look, both drive very well. Whats best for daily drive but regular b road blasting? What else is there to chose from? I dont like the megane, except the r26r but thats too much. Alfa 147gta nice but insurance is almost double.

Very different cars, Golf is a far better daily but the Focus is more extreme and more fun if you get a good one. Never has a test drive been more important than this, you have to test them both because they are so different.

Focus seems to be the way to go. Will have to take both out & see how they feel to me.

Focus all the way, and I'm not a huge Focus RS fan.

I'd have the Focus as a second car. It's getting on a bit now and if even you can find a standard one, it will still most likely have had a hard life. It wouldn't be something I'd like to rely on day in, day out for a long period. As a future classic, it'd be a good investment though.

If it's your only car, the Golf.

It has to be the Focus. If you can live with the Halfords interior the rest of the car is more fun overall.

And that's what lets it down, I hate the interior & it's what I'd see the most.

Although in almost every other way the Focus is far better than the Golf, certainly to drive. If you like looking at a nice interior get an Audi TT.
