Have a 57 335i cab 52k miles and just noticed the rear left suspension is squeeking on compression ie going over road humps. Is this a sign something is not correct?

Suspension bushes I imagine. If I really had to guess I'd say anti roll bar but impossible to say. On older BMW's it was the top mounts that used to go.

Probably not dangerous but it might be that once the car is on a ramp in the air it's obvious what's wrong. I wouldn't bother trying to find the source myself.

As said it will be some sort of bush. Surprised that a 4/5 year old car has got a squeaky bush - usually dried out bushes squeak.
If you're ok inspecting it yourself. Just use some silicone spray or wd on one bush at a time to see which one it is - it'll save you some cash at the garage rather than them coming back telling all your rear bushes are frigged.

The car is under a BMW extended warranty - hopefully this will be covered.

Maybe just grease the ARB bushes (red grease?) and it may quieter down smile
