Yet still people pull out in front or don't see emergency vehicles.

First police cars aren't visible enough on shouts now too visible. Wish the DM and the shouty people would make their minds up.

Some of the comments on there are hilarious. The Daily Wail really is toilet paper.

...said the new flashing lights on patrol cars were so bright they 'disorientate' other drivers which could lead to accidents similar to this one (below pic of an accident)

Gotta love the DM, random pic of an accident seemingly in no way connected with people being 'blinded' or 'disorientated'. rofl

I've got to say, some of the BiB lights are real fking bright on a dark night.. Especially if it's a Fire Engine/Ambulance which doesn't disappear quickly.

Indeed 9/10 I find the comments more entertaining than the story.

The LED repeaters are much better overall than the old spinning lights, though some of the vehicles near me having the spinning lights. I'd expect the LED's cheaper to maintain as they don't have any moving parts (unlike the motorised spinning lights).

Surely, the LED's must be safer overall, they are far more visible at night and mean emergency vehicled can be seen from much further away. I think the real issue here is that the people being 'blinded' by them are obviously driving too fast past the emergency vehicles. Surely the competent motorist would slow down and allow time for their eyes to adjust, and maintain a safe stopping speed to avoid crashing into anything else after exposure to the lights.

I really liked the comment about Blue lights not being required on any vehicle as they are not required. Also there is no need for any emergency service vehicle to make any speed
