It would appear you can't spec a manual Octavia vRS with bluetooth connectivity. You can only have this £400 option if you also spec DSG (another £1100).

Who thought that was a good idea? fking muppets.

Now I have the choice between having some st add on device ala parrot or choosing another car.

fking ing bks.

Anybody had any good experiences with after market hands free devices?

The Parrot systems are good. You should be able to go for a standalone interface that links with your car audio.

I think you are about 15 years (or more) too late with that post.

It's an easy retrofit. You might need to make sure you go for the upgraded maxidot trip computer though.

I have it retrofitted in mine and you control it through the trip computer, although I think the newer cars can control it through the head unit too.

Speak to a company in Mansfield called shark performance.

My Parrot is excellent and seems way more reliable than any OEM systems I've tried.

Jesus. It would be less hassle to use semaphore.

Might be worth it in a private car but not for a company one.

It is a little bizarre.

Although carsystems.pl sell kits of the module, mic, wiring, brackets, etc for about 200 euros, and it should be rather less than £200 for a competent auto electrical guy to fit it all and code the car for it, for total cost under £400.

The Parrot ones are OK but I don't like another un-integrated box stuck to the dash, and the VAG bluetooth these days is great - does A2DP for music streaming too.

The OH has a manual tdi VRS as a company motor and although it isnt an intagrated bluetooth we have a Skoda one which looks like a parrot. We got it thrown in when we said we wanted it with blootooth.

Looks like I might be getting a DSG version.

Just need to find one to test drive now.

So, what happens if you are not aware of an alternative aftermarket bluetooth system called "Parrot" on Pistonheads ?
