928 Porche future classic?
Discussion
Always loved the look and sound of these since that epic film Wierd Science
What is the model to go for in the 928 range and what sort of money should you budget to buy one as in not interested in a shed needing heaps of cash getting it up to standard instead a good example.
Am only interested in standard examples not modified even the original wheels.
Would be a keeper too or call it an investment classic which would be used as a second weekend car or special occasion.
Any help would be great thanks - even if it is sensible money would be a 968 etc

I owned a 928 S4 manual for many years and used it as a daily driver. I was waiting for it to go up in value.
I bought it instead of a BMW M635 CSi.
I would reccomend a 5.4 GTS. Looking back they haven't gone up in value and seem to have dropped, while 993s seem to be sky rocketing. The BMW M635 CSi seems to be rising also.
I loved my 928, it's handling was amazing and it was a practical car.

Quite a statement. What reasons for it?
Don't like the engine, don't like the rear bumper, don't like the rear quarter panel, don't like how the wheels sit, don't like the rear quarter glass and I don't like those stupid headlights.M635i on the other hand

I am a big fan of Porsche but IMHO the 928 was their third worse creation (behind cayenne+panamera but let's not get into that)

But that's ok. I THINK I prefer the M635CSi also.
One thing I will say, is that it's nothing like as big as it used to be. (Relative to other cars)
I remember seeing them as a kid, and they seemed huge. Wind the clock forward 20 odd years and they're actually fairly average in size.
Interiors (Particularly dashboards) are a bit underwhelming IMO.
