evenin all, need advice for choosing a suitable rental car for upcoming trip to italy.

want a car, cheap as possible, BUT... with room for 4 full sized adults and decent luggage space. suitable sized cars mondeo, passat and the like seem to have their prices jacked thru the roof for week long rental (£400-500) with minibus type vehicles seeming to be half the price.
any info would be gratefully received (would drive own vehicle but flights booked already)

cheers

Thrifty have always been a good budget choice.

Sixt have been good to me in Germany too.

I used car hire 3000, comparison site....always throws up a few good quotes although the cheapest ones are normally away from the airport with a minibus picking you up

Where in Italy??
Even though I live in Liguria I use Hertz France and currently I have a 2012 Focus estate for €750 a month, I ask for the MD2400 rate plan and have had C-Max's and the like on the same price. Works well for me but i'm in and out of Nice airport a lot which helps.

Forgot to mention the MD2400 limits you to 2400 km per month with a €0.36 charge per Km over, I have managed to even it out over the months, so never been hit for extra and I dont use their insurance covers so have a €1300 excess.
