Smart Fortwo Brabus Roof Help

Hello,

A friend of mine has recently purchased a Smart Fortwo Brabus, the roof has got stuck down on it and won't go back up with the button. Just wondered if anyone knew how to manually put the roof up without breaking it. Mercedes has told us the electrics need to be disconnected and sent to them to fix so though I'd ask on here before he sends it to Mercedes directly.

Go to `Variable Driving Enjoyment`, then `Soft Top System`, then `Soft Top System Faults`.

The bit you need is on page 126, you can manually wind it forward with a hex key.

Winding it with the hex key may close the roof, but doesn't always reset the "C" on the dashboard.. In my experience, it's probably one of the motors that's out of sync / busted.

My local Merc dealer "fixed" mine by removing the other motor, so that the roof wouldn't open properly! After much internal wrangling, it was fixed by an Indy, and DCUK paid the bill.

That `fix` is well documented in the Smart forums......
