No claims discount problem.

Basically my Car insurance is up for renewal in 3 days time, i have/had 9 years no claims discount and was just checking my rewenal policy and have just seen that the no claims discount is in my wifes name, ( she has never had insurance in her own name before ) so i called my company and apparently because she was down as being the main driver on the policy that the no claims discount is automatically transfered to her, even though i am the registered keeper and owner of the car and all mail etc was always addressed to me
This is the 1st year that she was the main driver of the car 2011-2012 and they then tell me it cannot be transfered back into my name. SO basically she all of a sudden has my 10 years no claims bonus now.
This ever happen anyone before? any suggestions as to getting it back in my name?

Whatever they did to transfer it to her, do the same thing again but with the two of you swapped, then they will transfer it to you. Easy. But not necessarily factually correct.
