While idly browsing Autotrader, looking for cheap V8s, as you do , I came across the above. Obviously high miles and no history count against it, but it looks decent enough and is pretty cheap.
Money pit or bargain?

160k and no servicing, might be a bargain but why haven't the dealership asked BMW for a service history, maybe an import?
Get the V5, then off to http://motinfo.direct.gov.uk/internet/jsp/ECHID-In...
Edit: added search term ln52 wmy ln52wmy

I'd say thats worth a chance, I own a facelift v8 but lpg'd. Issues on these are bushes back and rear, theres plenty of info over at xdrivers.co.uk. You've got 6 month's warranty with it which should cover you for big expensive items like gearbox and engine, you could probably get what you paid for it in a years time I would have thought.
Hmm. I Have to say, I think it looks like a scam. As in scammier than a scammy thing.
First off, the phone number. It just looks dodgy.
Secondly, the car looks way too good to be a 160k tired V8 X5.
Thirdly, the PH mantra 'if it looks to good to be true, it probably is'
Fourthly, the background of the shots identifies Wokingham and somewhere called 'Pearl Motors' - the Autotrader ad says 'RMT Cars' hmm...
And finally, and potentially most importantly, a little digging shows this:
http://www.pearlcars.co.uk/used-cars/bmw-x5-4-4i-v...
Scary but true!

Thanks! I have to say a cheap V8 X5 would be nice, and they are getting cheap - but not looking like that at that price! Shows how devious the scammers are becoming though 'NATIONWIDE DELIVERY SERVICE AVAILABLE'
"Yeah, mate, delivery no problem, just transfer the money and i'll get it over.......yeah, looks just like that pictures!!" etc, etc...
So either a car that doesn't exist, or a nail but with nice pics to tempt you...
Either way, not good, hope everyone takes care with their hard earned!

Hardly! And certainly not to the rather scary standard of some people on here! But I have noticed of late the scammers are getting better - make it too cheap and it jumps out, make it cheap enough for people to want to take a chance?
Well, you can guess the rest...
Just a heads up really for anyone that sees it and fancied a punt!

Whilst I agree this car looks like a scam, I have been waiting for the ar$e to drop out of X5 prices for some time. I mean, a 4x4 V8, heading towards 10 years old, with absolutely NO class or taste?
If they were an Audi saloon they'd be hard to shift at a grand.
Yeah, in the main I agree - they have held their price surprisingly well - but in fairness, it's probably better to compare to them to a 5 touring - and they seem roughly the same:If they were an Audi saloon they'd be hard to shift at a grand.

I hope the 'NO class or taste' comment refers merely to the V8's and not my DD Diesel...
