So, LED DRLs have their supporters and their haters. This is especially true of the Audi versions (although most cars are as 'in your face' these days). So what about this:

Audis Glow Like Jellyfish: http://t.co/O2slCYAY

Essentially covering a car in OLED panels. I quite like it but I can see all sorts of issues and there will be many people who, no doubt, hate the idea smile

They could take it further and install cameras around the car that capture it's surroundings & give it an "invisibility cloak" effect

What happened Audi? You used to make cool alternative cars like the old 100, V8 and quattro., and now you're quickly becoming the chaviest brand around.

How is that chavy?

The chavs I know can't afford new audis, and that video is demonstrating what possible technology is on its way.

OLED would be great it done "properly" but somehow i doubt it will be.

it would be good for rear clusters and allow for some creativity in aplication
as long as the cost is not insane. which it probably will be ohh new feature ker-ching.

You could coat the entire car in them and have them flashing orange and green stripes with a large foghorn mounted on the roof and folk would still not see it

Chavy as in chav style. As in, chavs tend to prefer shiny flashy things, bright colours, and other things that are very extrovert in apperance and designed to grab attention. Often, the method of attention grabbing is not through good design, but rather size and colour.

Secondly, being a chav does not necessarily mean you are poor. Cher Lloyd is about as chavvy as anyone, but has done quite well for herself, so will probably want such an Audi were it on sale.

Lastly, what good would that particular technology do on a car? It's hardly like OLED is a new thing - this is just a new application of it, and a wholy unessecary one at that imo.

They can't be any worse than the current generation of Audi rear indicators. The A3 and A4 are some of the most difficult to see unless you are directly behind the car.

I wouldn't necessarily call it chavvy. (from 1.40 of that video it was pretty cool) but those lights will appeal to everyone in the middle east.

I don't mean to make a generalisation but it will, (from my experiences over there) from Saudi to Afghanistan everyone over there loves shiny flashy things. China as well, hence all the 'bling' special editions that head that way.

The market for them is massive over there.
