Cool sporty diesel for teenage son?

oxymoron mate...A diesel engine is best suited to towing and cruising due to it's limited power-band.
I suppose it really depends on your definition of "sporty"
EDIT: another thing to bear in mind is the astonishing cost of parts when these modern high pressure diesel systems start wearing out. For this reason alone I give modern second hand diesel's a miss

Right now EVERYONE wants small, cheap and economical (i.e. diesel) so you get less for your money with an oil-burner than you would if you went petrol. Are Panda 100HPs down to this budget yet (assuming he's no problem with the Panda, of course!)?1bhp said:
