hello, basically im 16 years old and my birthdays in 2 months. im looking for the best place to get insurance on a 1.2 petrol fiesta zetec climate and the cheapest ive found is £1800 which i will not be able to afford with my current part time job , without taking into consideration for petrol. if anyone has any advice or websites for cheap insurance for new drivers... it is definately welcome...

thanks

Co-Op young drivers insurance. They install a black box in your car and monitor your driving. If you stick to the speed limit, don't drive stupid etc. your premiums will go down. Obviously if you do the opposite they'll go up or they may cancel the policy altogether.

It sounds st but it's a great way to build up your no claims and is a lot cheaper than anything else you'll find.

You tried 3rd party? If you crash in your 1st year it would be cheaper to just buy another car than claim.

Is that off a comparison site? Now go out, get a decent car magazine and flick through the insurance ads. Ring them up and see if they can better that, there are a few young driver specialists out there!

As I've said on more than reply, have you got an aged relative with a clean licence and a decent record. I'm worth approx £100 off my daughter's premium . And they don't even need to ever drive your car . Worth knowing.

Added parents as additional drivers?.
What sort of excess do you have?, try a £750 voluntary and purchase "excess cover" for approx £60-£70 if the saving on the higher excess is higher than the £70 it may be worth doing.

Is that price as a learner or as a full licence holder?

Sorry to piss on your chips, but it won't be £1800 once you've passed your test
