Surprise in car
Discussion
On Friday at ~ 9pm I got into my car, noted a tatty carrier bag on the passenger seat, then a rank smell, and out of the corner of my eye, blearily rising from the rear seat, a vagrant.
Stupid Qu: "What are you doing in my car?"
A: "Restin'"
Me: (in typical English style) "Sorry but I need to use it"
A: "OK" and he slowly collected his stuff and left.
He could only have been in there for a maximum of 2-3 hours but the smell took three days to dissipate. On Saturday I saw a couple of neighbours' cars with all doors & windows open and found that I was the fourth person in the road to be favoured with his fragrant presence. Those who'd had him unseen in their cars for a whole night haven't forgotten it despite repeated valeting.
Sometimes I fail to lock the car - the teenage kids are getting their stuff out after the school run while I'm unlocking the house & deactivating the alarm so I don't always blip the remote. Obviously my neighbours don't either and he's found a nice selection of beds.
I've heard of people occupying unused holiday cottages, canal boats in the winter, but not until now cars in driveways.
He places comfort before EVO-ness - he had a choice of a R8 and BMW 5 series estate opposite, and chose the latter, downgrading to my Zafira on Friday - and I've never seen any traces in my Caterham...
ETA - I know about Alan Bennett's Miss Shepherd (15 years in her vans in his driveway) and Viscount Stansgate (Tony Benn)'s tramp in the shed.

I'm guessing the 5 might have leather (cold) seats - so yours is probably the best for a good nights kip!Very funny story. Although I think I'd freak out a bit if I found a dosser in my car.
PS. Have you thought about an anti-tramp axle mod?

Lucky he hadn't shat himself. We had one do that on a busy bus in London. Everyone screaming to get off and retching up on the pavement
Haha, saw one do this in a bus kiosk in Philadelphia a couple of years ago.
There were about three people trapped inside by the tramp who had pooed his pants.
He had the round his ankles, s
t every where and three people throwing up all over the inside of the kiosk.carreauchompeur said:
pics or it didn't happen. I agree, my Zafira with cloth seats was probably more comfortable than the BMW - I've not looked but there is a fair chance that they have leather! He's probably not that fastidious.
