Not another dream ride thread as such, but taking into account your current circumstances and realistic future prospects of hard grafting, what car do you genuinely hope to own at some point in the future? This can be either a current car or a classic.

So forget any chance lottery winnings or other such unlikely windfalls please and just tell us what car you are realistically aiming to buy before you kick the bucket.

My lasting itch for the past 25+ years has been the Lamborghini Jalpa (currently about 30k for a decent one). Still not had the opportunity to scratch it yet.

Porsche 911 of some variant, currently a 996 Carrera S.

Boring, perhaps, but I've always wanted to own one, and It's a performance car I think you ocould use properly without the fear of bills or it breaking horribly.

That or an NSX.

At my young age. I'm aiming for a S2000 in the coming years.

This.

Although I suspect if I'm ever in the position to buy a decent one - I'd probably get something else !

TVR Tuscan/350c. I nearly bought a crashed Tuscan only had fibre glass damage, but the insurance was too much.

or some where north of 500bhp and 4wd in the golf smile.

AM V8 Vantage followed by a Nissan GTR and at some point in life I'd like to own an F40. Although the F40 is possibly an unrealistic target frown

Oh and a F355 yes

To add: I've been wanting an E36 M3 for quite some time.

It's hard to say.. I love cars and depending on my earnings at any given point I guess I aspire to different cars.

But really I think I would be happy if I could end up with an Audi S/RS (4 or 6) or a BMW M3 or M5. Doesn't even have to be a current one of either. Just something with a bit of muscle!

Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

I'd also live a Ferrari 550, but that may be slightly beyond realistic

996 GT3 in Speed Yellow pretty realistic for my career and salary when I'm 20ish.

M3 CSL would be on the cards aswell.

A Lotus Elise/Exige for me. Or a Caterham. They aren't that expensive now, but seeing as I'm only 21 it will be a couple of years before I can afford one.

When I have a family, I'd like an uberbarge like an M5.

Great subject!!!

Before I get started I've got a Jalpa itch too!! That section of Rocky 4 after Apollo dies and he's just driving - Jalpa!!! (I'll get my cloak).

I've never been that interested in anything like too supercar, I always wanted an E30 M3 and mid 90s saw a grand prix white 968CS which I thought was awesome!!! I have both those and won't ever be selling them but to realise the Jalpa/Shamal/Ghibli Cup dream I have to either get another car (divorce) or sell one of the others.

In terms of dailys, Sarah is happy with her Boxster. I tried to talk her into a new car a few times over the last few years but she's not interested - every second hand 987S is either a derivative of silver or blue. I think I could convince her to swap for a 997 but we'd have to find a Guards one.

My ML55 ticks all the boxes for me so I think I'd just get a W164 when they become daily money.

This. I'm hoping to step into a 996 C2 next year if everything goes according to plan. I have had to promise the wife I will get new carpets and double glazing in the flat first though.

Same here, ticks almost all of my boxes. But only the later AP2 models, and Im planning on having it boosted. Then I'll be happy.

An NSX or 911 (preferable the 'R' or a GT3, respectively) would be lovely; a 360 Challenge Stradale as a greater challenge.
Would love a V8 Vantage at some point as well.

I'd best get on with it! biggrin

Aston Martin DB9, I just think they are gorgeous and are getting more and more affordable.
