Why is it some mass produced models seem to be on every street and then disappear so quickly?

And the nominations are..........................

Funny enough, I was thinking the same thing this afternoon, I was doing some repairs to the cctv system in a garage today and there was a silver one that had been on it's roof. Can't remember the last time I saw one on the roads.

ETA - MGF/MGTF that is.

80/90s French saloons like the Citroen BX and Pug 405, they seemed to largely vanish very quickly esp the BX and it can't be rust as they were mainly plastic!

Scrappage killed a lot of these cars a few years back, it takes time before you realise you're not seeing them anymore.

I've still got an MGF parked on my driveway.

I actually saw a brand new Chinese-era MGF the other day.

My nomination has to be

or any mk2 (I think) Fiesta in that sky blue they used to do, common as muck they were right through the 90s and into the 2000s but can't even find a picture on google images

Fiat Tipo? Was galvanised so they didn't rot. I assume Italian electrics put paid to them though. Pity, I loved my 1.6 DGT!
