I have a private plate on my car, if I px the car at a dealer will/can they transfer the plate to the new car (it will be aused car from dealer)

Yes they can. Can take up to 2 weeks.

They will probably charge you for it, the DVLA fee is £85 I think

so may be better just to put it on retention now and as looking to px the car in about 6 weeks or so.

Or just do the deal 2 weeks before you want to collect the car.

Probably able to negotiate the transfer fee into the deal and let the dealer fk around with paperwork that way

£80 to tranfer from car to car so that's your cheapest option.

Putting it on retention will set you back £105.

Both options are easy enough.
