Octavia 2.0FSI?
Discussion
Had a 2005 1.9 diesel for 4 years and 90k miles - the only issues I had were the door locks (3 out of the 4 failed & you could only open then from outside), climate control (total failure - twice!!) and the trim on the driver's door which sagged where you naturally rest your elbow but then again I'm a lardy git & do tend to drive with my right elbow resting there all the time.
Other than those I was very happy with it

Have been running the 2.0 FSI in my 05 reg 4x4 estate for two years and almost 40,000 miles now.
It's quite noisy, sounds a bit like a diesel (normal apparently) and I've driven quicker 2.0s off the line, but once it gets going it's not too bad.Supposedly good on fuel, I've seen up to 40mpg on a motorway run at 70, but average about 33 or 34 out of it on mixed driving. Not a bad engine, but not what I'd describe as a 'peach', though I did come to it from a smooth 90s Merc V6.
