I like them but if you're tall it's a squeeze. Seats are too fat and high so vision is impaired due to the windscreen. They also rust just like an old one and can get tired fast. Trim is pretty poor.
Lovely looking things and if it's just a weekender and you fit definitely worth a look IMO.
I had a Factory V8 with some modifications and there is a lot more room in an original. Obviously can't cut the roof off. If room is a factor why not look at one of the various MGB V8 conversions out there. Some are very good.

Budgets around £13-14K.
You could get a pretty good Chimaera for that. If you don't like 'em, fine, but ostentatious seems (to me anyhow) an odd word to describe why you wouldn't get a TVR.The RV8 is an MGB with updated looks and engine for the Japanese market IIRC. It is still a 50+ yr old car underneath. Though I accept the Chim engine isn't exactly modern I think the overall looks and interior is better than the RV8.
Having owned both MGs and TVRs, the TVR is a big step up from the MGs IMHO.
Good luck with whatever you decide to get.
