Sudden influx of 'I want a V8' threads...
Discussion
Or is it just me?
Fair enough, I understand why you want one, but nearly all the threads are people determined to get a specific engine layout, regardless of what car it's in! Some people are listing cars they're considering at complete opposite ends of the spectrum?! Could you really not put up with a lowly V6 or anything else for that matter, instead of an ancient V8 making ~200hp in a bag of s
t?
That is all.

..forged crank
..making 505hp / 475lb/ft
from factory.

Drive one, then you will understand. You will also need to buy one to make your life complete, well complete for that week at least. I went out to buy a BMW 630 one day. They had a 650 next to it in the showroom.
Drove the 630, it was very nice, had enough grunt etc.
Salesman said, do you want to try the 650? I tried to resist as I knew I wanted to do the V8 thing badly. We didn't need to do more than the dual carriage way and back for me to buy it. It was more expensive, worse on fuel more to tax and more to insure. It's been worth every penny for when you put the windows down and get the noise!

V8's are so affordable these days, never a better time to buy as people simply cannot afford to fuel them. I run a V8 X5 and it's a great engine, I do like the sound of a good V8 and the peachiest one I've had was in the B7 RS4.
I also like the sound of a nice V10 too, higher pitched sound but very racey.
