It's complete bullst!

Like the adverts where the car is priced at £999 but then in the advert it says "real price is £3999" Or when you do a search and you list Low to High price. And the first 30 adverts are £1 so they appear on the list first. (Same st with mileages at "105" ) Or the ads listed at £150 as that's the price on finance per month. If someone is only spending a grand do you really think they can afford a 3 year finance deal?

Sadly PH is not immune to those practices. And I HOPE that someone makes a decision soon to ban traders who carry on with that st!

Just as bad as traders putting hundreds of wanted ads for cars in the classifeds - a real pita when seraching more than 1 category at a time.

One of the reasons I avoid Autotrader is this acceptance of deliberate misdescription.

Clearly as traders the individuals know they are breaking the law.

Clearly that is of no concern to them in the way they do business.

In my view such an approach is certainly criminal and clearly wrong.

Therefore I avoid Autotrader.

It is the deliberate repetition week in week out that I object to.

I am surprised trading standards have not jumped on this before now.

At least the Bay and Pistonheads actually try to stop such nonsense.

Hence that is where I look for cars.

Autotrader have created a situation where everyone is scrambling to be top of the listing, way to do it is to be the cheapest and make feck all, or cheat......I do neither as I binned them last year, as I dont want to sell on price.

I understand your approach.

Why I wonder do trading standards not act? It is clearly misrepresentation.

Information blanked out because: UK law allows anybody to sue you for anything .... the law is an ass!

NO used cars have zero mileage ... not one. There are plenty of liars and crooks in the motor trade.

Always thought it would be a laugh to get all of PH to phone the dealer and offer the price in the ad.

Might not do anything, but might make us laugh.

Its very useful as far as i'm concerned

Basically the seller has just said "I am a complete crook and cannot be trusted"

Long may it continue

My point entirely. Why would anyone believe a word such dealers utter?
