...and I found the mirror casing discarded in a nearby hedge. Makes my blood boil. mad To think I recently posted on a thread on here worrying about the paint fading rolleyes

I only planned to bring the car to Edinburgh for a few months while I finish off my degree just to be able to take her out for a spin every so often.

I live in a fairly decent area so thought I'd be alright to park a Renault Clio on the street. Then after less than two weeks this happens. frown After this incident its now back in a secure garage in a rural location, lesson learned. I should probably count myself lucky it wasn't keyed as well. rolleyes

Ouch. That took some effort to break it off.

Either a pissed chap or a cyclist tags it off

Where did you get those mud guards?

Highly unlikely to be a cyclist IMO given its parked facing the pavement. They were fitted by a previous owner so not sure.

Not sure how much, the casing was somehow intact which might hopefully reduce the cost. Will sort it out once I'm using the car in a few months time.

Have informed the police just so it gets recorded in their statistics as I know they won't be interested.

Gutted for you. Looks like you try and keep your cars in good order, making it doubly annoying.

I know it's not ideal, but my missus' Jazz had the same thing happen. I glued it back on with Araldite and it's still there.

Looks like Marchmont? I lived on Arden St, and the nonsense I used to see my fellow students gettin up to was indeed rage inducing.

Car was parked at the top of Arden street! I thought it was one of the safer areas of Marchmont frown

I noticed after I posted, you were parked outside my old door! Think it was 67. I used to leave my Elise and Exige parked round there 5/6 years ago pre-permits and never really felt it was safe. Better over the other side of Strathearn / grange road and walk the 5 mins.

I just thought that spot was good in that I could see it from my bedroom window. Seeing as I have the option not too keep it in Edinburgh there's no way I'm paying £££ in repairs for the same tw@t to come and do it again mad Should at least get a refund on my permit.

Got a pair of Clio mirrors that were my brothers knocking about somewhere, they're even red . Let me know if you are interested, will do you the pair for a good price if they're the right ones.

i would crucify the person that did that to my car

don;t pay £250 for a new mirror

try ebay or a local breakers, clios are ten a penny in breakers yard being a favourite with young drivers

you should be able to pick one up for around £30 and spray it with a coded tin of red from halfruds

job done
