W202 Merc C230k mpg?

Can anyone with one of these or had experience of them tell me what sort of MPG can be achieved on for example a 20 mile motorway run?

Manual also not auto.

Two things - the manual is not a massively enjoyable experience in the C due to the car not having a handbrake and only having a parking brake - it makes hillstarts less then ideal.
Also the mpg is around 27-30mpg in the real world. In fact my CLK320 does very simialr mpg to my mates 230k SLK.
