Once across the channel, on a Ring visit, how easy is it to find V-Power equivalent?

Thanks

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shell_V-Power

"In Germany, all Shell stations offer two varieties of petrol V-Power: Super V-Power, rated at 95 RON, and V-Power Racing 100, rated at 100 RON."

Just as easy in the UK. Most stations in France and Germany will have V-Power.

Quite a few Aral stations supply 102 octane super unleaded in Germany.

It was about 20% pricier than 99ron last time I went to Germany.

My VR6 felt fantastic too on the higher octane stuff when I was in Germany last year! Well worth giving it a go! smile

Is octane rating in Germany directly comparable to UK rating?

As an aside: I remember reading that US fuels are rated at lower octane ratings but are broadly comparable to UK grade counterparts despite their higher ratings, is this true?

The only fuel I cared about in the US was VP, so if I'm wrong please correct me.

Germany and UK both report the same: RON.

The US reports the average of MON and RON, which is why their octane rating number is lower for the same grade (but also they don't have access to the really high octane stuff from pumps either).

In general it's easier to get >100RON in Germany than the UK (at least in my limited experience).

Some really modified cars there, even race cars so its needed. Abit pricey though.

Aral used to have 99 RON but scraped it and went to 102 RON and hiked up the price along while ago. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yep, be warned that the proper-job 105 stuff is about 1.80/ltr... 100ron is available everywhere about 1.55-to-65 at the moment.

yes

US 87 = UK 91
US 91 = UK 95
US 93 = UK 97/98

You do get higher in the US but I would imagine it is similar to the UK i.e. not that popular due to the price, most would just use race gas.
