Engine change and DVLA

I'm having a like for like engine change in April. I'm guessing I have to alter the engine number to show the new one on my V5 and return it to the Swansea folks?

You don't have to do it legally.

You must provide a receipt and a letter from the garage who changed the engine. Wallys.
