Home Mechanics Course Surery Area - Any recomendations?
Discussion
As per title really. A friend and I quite like the idea of going on a car mechanics course in our spare time (evenings/ weekends) to pick up a few more skills. Personally I do the odd bit on my own cars but would like to go that bit further. I have aspirations to one day own a caterham and potentially build one so would like to get some ground work in place upon which to build.
I work in the Guildford/ Woking area, does anyone know of anything that might be suitable?
Many thanks,
Tom

By the way, I learned how to spanner on a Caterham- really it doesn't get much easier. I know they aren't cheap so you might be worried that you could potentially be making a costly error, but there are specialists up and down the country, a noisy contingent of helpful local owners and a great owners club/forum. In three years I've gone from "maybe I should try changing the brake pads myself!?" to engine and gearbox removal and re-fitting within three hours. I've also tackled a top end rebuild on a friend's polo using the general principles and techniques I learned on the Caterham.
Does 'Nescot' college on the Reigate road offer anything?
