Does the Picasso mk1 have its place in the heritage of the motor car, or should it be forgotten quicker than a floater in Barrymore's pool?

So when and where did you drive it and what did you like/dislike about the driving experience?

Or are you just repeating rubbish you've read on the internet or heard on top-gear?

The Franco Sbarro version is pretty impressive,

Other than that, they're pure crap. We buy them at work to take the back axles out for Berlingo vans then just scrap the rest, that's all they're really good for.

No, just seen one. They haven't even got pistons for a start.

Couldn't you replace the batteries with some much more adequate ones, and make it much more fast/dangerous?

The Picasso's always going to be a hateful bus.

I had one for 2 weeks (courtesy car) and did 3000 miles in it, wasn't THAT bad and as a means of transporting people and a load of stuff it's perfectly fine. Would've been better with a bigger engine though because the 1.6 was both underpowered and underbraked for hauling 5 adults around!

Don't think Citroen ever meant for it to appeal to petrolheads.

Shame it only had a 306 GTI-6 lump in it with just over 200bhp.

Nor does an RX7. I don't think that makes it a "non-PH car".

When the first Picasso came out we got to ride in one as a taxi at Le Mans. We had literally minutes' worth of entertainment watching the digital speedo to see it get to display the magic '100' (kmh).

Having one in the UK would always give you the challenge to coax it up to 'The Ton'.

Actually in the UK it can't legally be classed as a "car" so it probably doesn't qualify for this thread.

I can neither confirm nor deny that the 1.6 petrol reached a ton on the M6/M74. hehe

....... and if it did, the speedo was in KM/H, officer.

I agree with the OP: the 2.4 children carrier for lobotomized parents.

A huge step down from the original people mover concept of Renault's stylish Espace.

I had one as for a few days it was a honorific hateful piece of st, its was so depressing. I now sympathise with the angry dads that drive them around like tts.

To be fair I did drive it flat out everywhere I went with zero mechanical sympathy. Was given to me with 100 on the clock (delivery miles) and went back with over 3k.

Not in the traditional sense, but it still has 'suck, squeeze, bang, blow'

What's that got to do with anything? Maybe the site should be called "suck squeeze bang blow heads", but that could be taken the wrong way. hehe

So does Katie Price, but I wouldn't call her a PH ride.

Playing catch-up with the Renault Megane Scenic surely? According to Wikipedia, the Xsara Picasso first appeared in 1999, the Megane Scenic in 1996.
