This is a first for me!
I am going to change my everyday car soon, as it have had it long enough and I still don't really like it. (Its nice! just a bit boring)

My problem is I have no idea what I want next, or even how much I want to spend. ?? I just can't get excited about modern cars.

I need a new tow car so maybe a 4x4, but I can't build up the enthusiasm for one. Then I think something exciting, another sports car. But then I think I would be better getting another classic sports car as it will be more involving. confused

So I can't even decide on a sodding type! The only thing I do know is I want something more interesting than the thing I drive now.

So am I crazy? Anybody else having the same problem?

Buy a Lancia Flaminia.

Or something amphibious. Or a fiat 131 mirafiori.

Why do you need something modern?

Edit: didn't notice thing about tow car.

BMW E3.

I know exactly what I'm getting next, a 944 and a mk4 rs turbo. I'm moving away from modern cars because most of the ones I could afford are bland by comparison. No idea why I want these cars, think it might go back to my childhood.

Yes. I'm planning on getting rid of the shed but don't know what to replace it with. Something fast while being practical(ish) like a 328i or get a cheap shopping trolley and drive like a loon occasionally. scratchchin

Yup, e36 m3 evo here. No plans to get rid, not least of all as i don't know what else would be close to it for anything like the same money.

No idea really. I just always have a modern as my everyday car to neglect.

I like the idea of looks I would get towing a racing car or a model T with a Bentley.

What do you drive currently?

I have had my current 1 series 2 and a bit years now, its done 63k and the rock hard ride on runflats is no fun anymore, im thinking of a e90 touring, but maybe even an x1 ( redface )

I still dream that in the next year i will have space for a weekend toy

Same here, I bought my mondeo estate of much cheapness for towing my bikes, then ended up using it more and more for commuting rather than the bike (bike is a pain to get out, mpg isn't much worse and as I have little traffic normally it actually takes the same time when you take into account getting changed time).

I was bored with it when I got it and I'm still bored with it. Fantastic car but dull as fsck.

So now 66k later I'm wondering how much longer it'll last and I'm starting to contemplate what to get next, something smaller and sporty would be nice but in reality I need something that will tow two bikes along with a load of kit (slightly annoyingly the MPS can't), ideally better mpg but isn't diesel, better handling (although the mondeo is surprisingly good) and take two children!

I plan on changing my car in a few months time and change mind mind about what I want next more often than I change my socks. At the moment I'm thinking Monaro VXR or Volvo P1800 and put a T5 lump in it, keep it looking standard. Or maybe an old Amazon with the T5 and a bit ratty. Possibly a Forester STi.

I have a Mustang I barely use but every time I decide to sell it, I look at it and can't think of anything to replace it.

My wife has a Mondeo which i'd like to change for something more PH but she paid for it and is happy with it.

That leaves my daily (Mk III Golf GTI) which is largely dictated by the short space outside the house where I can park it without blocking the drive. I'd love a Cadillac or Jag or maybe an older 7 series but even a Golf R32 is a foot longer than the Mk 3 so the staus quo remains.

I've had my DC5 for six years and I've no idea what to get next. I've got used to the dealer servicing & MOT for £300 every year and there's nothing else on the market that can come close to that running cost/performance/reliability ratio.
