Talk me out of this Chrysler 300
Discussion
Fancy a change for my opt out company car. I have been thinking of something boring like a Skoda superb, vauxhaul insignia or even being sensible a 1.7 diesel astra.
Now the thing is I'm fed up with boring work cars I fancy somthing a bit different but Am i being daft?
will driving this beast for 20- 25k miles a year for work break me?
Anybody know anything about owning one?

I gave them some serious consideration, first a diesel, (same engine as my current Merc, they're a good engine) then seen they did the 5.7 Hemi and loved the idea of a ridiculous engine, then found an SRT-8 in budget. Went to have a look at one at the local Chrysler garage and was hugely disappointed by the cheap interior.
The leather was crap, the dash plastics lacked any rigidity and were low rent, the driving position was ok but couldn't quite get comfortable. Basically, it felt really cheap inside. Huge let down. They depreciate pretty fast too, the SRT-8 I saw was in black with black leather with around 35000 on the clock and was up for £14k. It was only a few years old too.
Shame really as they look so good on the outside.

I'm sure it's a decent car, though I have also heard the interiors are naff - but do you really want to spend ten grand on a mediocre car when you're going to ram the value through the floor with your mileage? Get an older diesel 5er instead?
The idea is we have cars up to three years old. The 407 is already 4 years old...However my boss has relaxed his possition (he has to really his car is a 55 plate and he gets double the allowance)
The idea about the 300 ( or dodge nitro yes ok I know) is that the engines are apparently bomb proof main consideration is reliability. I could stick a cheap non dating plate on my car and as long as I didnt break down on the way to a customer my boss would be happy.
Options
option 1 most sensible:-
I could keep the 407 its cheap to run costs me nothing and is making me money as its paid off. Its not going to depreciate like a stone from where it is now. 20k service intervals which are cheap and 40MPG even with my heavy feet. It has never had one single problem with it and feels liek it did the day i bought it.
option 2 Buy a 1 year old Insignia/Astra/Superb A N otherboring repmobile.
boss would be happy but I will lose a lot on depreciation for what? a few years newer car but it will have warrenty.
Option 3) something like a 300c
I will be happy as its something different that I like rather than a compromise like option 2.
However running costs are a concern as is size. I have to visit some very tight places for parking at customer sites I struggle with the 407 at some places
